Over Memorial Day weekend (May 24–26), Crew 27 and Troop 27 headed up to Skylawn Cemetery to plant flags in order to honor our veterans’ service. After finishing the flag planting, we headed up to Del Valle to camp for the next couple of nights. On Sunday, we spent the morning teaching newer scouts from Troop 27 useful canoeing skills on the lake. After that, we returned to camp for a tasty lunch, then constructed a large 12-foot arch for an entrance to our campsite as a fun lashings exercise. We then enjoyed a fantastic dinner and a fun campfire. On Sunday, we set off on an engaging hike. Overall, it was a wonderful weekend with friends, good food, and fun.
