This year for Camporee, Venture Crew had 10-12 participants, as opposed to our 5 last year. We started out the outing by leaving CCP on Friday night, to head out to Boulder Creek. We got there, set up, and got ready for competitions the next day. During the day on Saturday, there were many cool and intriguing events and activities being held around camp. For example, we had archery, native american style traps, tomahawk throwing, plant identification practice, and more. After all our events on Saturday, we went back to camp and made a dinner of chicken alfredo (we put too much salt on the chicken by accident). Then, we attended a campfire with skits and songs with the other troops that were there. On Sunday morning, we got up, made breakfast, and went to the morning flag ceremony. After the flags, we all stayed in the area, and started the awards, where all the event runners awarded people with ribbons for getting top three in their events. Since the venture crew has mainly older people, we were in the senior division, meaning there were only 5 patrols to compete against. Our two crew patrols ended up getting first and second overall for our division. After the awards, we went back to camp, made sure everything was packed up, and started a service project before leaving camp. We did trail maintenance, clearing tree overhangs from trails, lopping branches coming in from the side, and just generally making the trails more visible and safe. After that service project, we all went back to CCP to enjoy the rest of our weekend.<\/p>\n
